The Oxfordshire Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) continues to bring employers, education providers and partners together to shape a skills system that supports one of the UK’s most innovative economies. Informed by extensive engagement with employers across Oxfordshire, the latest LSIP identifies the key actions needed to strengthen the local skills system. The report focuses on seven priority themes:

PARTNERSHIPS – Strengthen collaboration between employers, education providers and partners across the Thames Valley.

AI & DIGITAL – Respond to AI and digital transformation, building on Oxfordshire’s world-leading innovation strengths.

TECHNICAL SKILLS – Develop higher technical and specialist skills to support priority sectors.

PRODUCTIVITY – Upskill the existing workforce to improve business productivity and growth.

LEADERSHIP – Build management and leadership capability, particularly within SMEs.

NET ZERO – Prepare the workforce for clean energy, green infrastructure and emerging technologies.

WORK-READINESS – Equip people with the practical skills and workplace experience needed for long-term careers.
